Beti Naek is a three-part man's hip cloth with a center panel made with all ikat patterning and a different symmetrical motif appearing in the bands on the two side panels. This textile is worn for ceremonies and special occasions. The textiles of Miomafo in West Timor are renowned for their indigo work with intricate ikat. Both the Atoni Ahaket human figure motif and the Beso frog motif on this Beti Naek represent ancestors, although they have different forms.

Warp ikat, three panels sewn together, commercial cotton, natural dyes, open fringe. Ikat tied, dyed and woven in Oe Nenu, 2023. Size 113 x 208 cm / 44 x 82 in
