The sekomandi textile maybe made as two ikat panels sewn together as a wide single textile. Often there are two additional narrow panels sewn on to either side. Sekomandi textiles are used to decorate the traditional houses during ceremonies as a sign that the entire ritual cycle had been performed such as weddings.

We have curated these three pieces to be hung together or in separate places. The motif on the textiles is ulu karua le’po. This motifs refers to the eight traditional leaders who have specific roles and responsibilities for the wellbeing of their community throughout all of the different Toraja groups.

This textile is lovely on as a wall hanging or used as throw on the bed or over a couch.
