Timor has a wide range of textiles with various techniques including ikat, supplementary warp wrap called buna and supplementary warp patterning called sotis. There are also a few remote areas that are able to weave a kilem pattern.
This lovely textile requires an amazing amount of time to complete as the entire textile utilizes the buna warp wrapping technique.The central motif on this textile is kai bia suna naek referring to a large hooked motif like that of buffalo horn.
This textile would enhance any living space as a wall hanging, a bed throw or a table runner.
