The weavers of Amanuban have a wide range of textiles with various techniques including ikat, supplementary warp wrap called buna and supplementary warp patterning called sotis. There are a few remote areas that still weave kelim patterns locally called naisa. The indigo blues of this area are lovely.

The central ikat motif in this textile is Ma’Kai Bia Suna Ana refers to a small hooked diamond pattern. This piece would be great worn as a scarf or as a runner on a table.

Warp ikat, single panel, open fringe, commercial cotton, natural dyes. Made by Yohana Lenamah in Timor, 2019.
