This textiles in Timor are still used for ceremonial purposes. Natural dye and hand loomed textiles remain highly value by the more traditional communities that are still in remote areas throughout Timor.
The motif of hooks and lozenges are typical of this area. The ikat motif on this textile is makaif large hooked pattern that represents interconnectedness. This handspun textile could be worn as a scarf or uses as a table runner or hung on a wall.
