Oe Ekam is a small village in the highlands of central Timor in the old kingdom of Amanuban.
The textiles of this area were famous for their indigo color. Mau Ana is the name for woman’s shoulder cloth that can be made using futus ikat or a supplementary warp patterning called sotis to make the motifs
The central motif on this textile is teme an eagle motif.
Warp ikat, single panel, twisted fringe, commercial cotton, natural dyes. Ikat tied, dyed, woven in Amanuban, Timor, 2019.
