Lau humba refers to a two-part tubular textile worn by women for daily use in Hama Parengu and within the Kanatang cultural group, which is known for textiles using natural indigo dye practices. The village of Hama Parengu maintains its’ animistic ties to the Marapu beliefs – still following the traditional ways of caring for the land and maintaining strong social ties.

This stunning cloth is of incredibly high quality and will be beautiful as a wall hanging or used as throw.

Plain weave, two panels stitched together and sewn as a tube, commercial cotton, natural dyes. Dyed and woven in East Sumba, 2019.
