Futu is the local name for a ceremonial belt which is worn to complete traditional dress. Futu uses a slit tapestry weaving technique locally known as naisa along with the warp wrapping buna technique.

This textile is lovely as a belt or used as an accent on a table.

Slit tapestry and supplemntary warp wrap patterning, single panel, commercial cotton, natural dyes. Dyed by Threads of Life studio, woven by Welly Oematan in Timor, 2020.
