The Indigo ikat panel on this cushion was made by the weavers of the Miomafo area in West Timor who are known for their indigo work and intricate ikat. The solid colour backing is made by the weavers from Hamba Praing in East Sumba using indigo dyes are well.
The motif on this cushion is called beso frog which is considered an ancestral representation. When Timorese pray for rain, the frog appears which is considered the ancestor answering their prayers.
These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed.
