Mud Dyed GeckosTimor Cushion Covers
The panel of this cushion cover is made by the weavers of Amanatun in West Timor using cotton fibres in a supplementary warp technique called sotis and dyed with mud dyes. The solid coloured backing is made by the weavers from Timor using mud dye.
The supplementary motif on this cushion is called teke or gecko. The gecko, frog and crocodile are all representations of the ancestor in West Timor.
