Timor Mud DyedGecko Motif Cushion Cover
The panel of this cushion cover is made by the weavers of Amanatun in West Timor using cotton fibres in a supplementary warp technique and dyed with mud dyes. The solid coloured back panel of this cushion is made from handspun heirloom cotton and woven by the community of weavers in Tuban Java.
The motif on this cushion is called teke or gecko. The gecko, frog and crocodile are all representations of the ancestor in West Timor.
