This cushion is made up of a traditional cloth woven in Sulawesi using natural dyes and traditional ikat motifs. The solid color backing is made from handspun cotton and woven on a backstrap loom in Java and dyed with mud dye in the Threads of Life Dye Studio using a mud dye technique.
The motif on this cushion is called tosso balekoan which represents a niddy-noddy that is used for making skeins of yarn after being spun from cotton.
These handmade natural dyed cushions are exquisite on a couch, chair or bed.
