Sulawesi Ikat Morinda RustSekomandi Cushion Cover
This cushion is made up of a traditional cloth woven in Sulawesi using natural dyes and traditional ikat motifs. The solid colour backing is made by the weavers from Hama Parengu in East Sumba dyed with natural indigo using natural processes. This area of Sumba is famous for its indigo dyed cloth.
The motif on this cushion is called tonoling, the name of a compound near Rongkong to the north of the Karataun weaver group. This motif refers to the relationship through marriage between the two areas. This motif is a reminder of the importance of relationships.
These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed.
