Sulawesi Mud Dyes IkatMorilotong Cushion Cover
This cushion is made up of the traditional cloth woven on Sulawesi using natural dyes and traditional ikat motifs. The black and white patterns are very colorfast as they have been properly dyed with tannins and iron rich muds and washed repeatedly in a fast flowing river.
The motif on this cushion is called totandung and is said to be the oldest known motif by the To Mangki weavers. It is said to mean “to celebrate our success and to be generous.
These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed.
