This cushion is made up of a traditional cloth woven on Kalimantan island with traditional pattern of the Dayak Desa ethnic group. Kalimantan textiles have been highly sought after over the centuries by collectors.
The motif on this cushion jelu is named for an insect found in the forests that is used for specific ceremonies. Like many motifs among the Dayak people this demonstrates the importance of the forest for all aspects of their life.
These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed.
