Cushion CoverTraditional Textiles
This cushion is from a woman’s sarong made by the weavers of Palue which is a small island off Flores. People from Palue were forcibly relocated on Flores at the time of the central mountain on the island was erupting. The solid colour backing is made from linen or handspun cotton from Tuban and dyed with Ceriops tegal in the Threads of Life dye studio. These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed.
Made by weavers of Palue in Onelako, Flores, 2019.
