Beti naek is the local name for a man’s hip cloth that is worn as traditional dress. This supplementary warp wrap technique buna is used to create the small design on the white centerfield which are referred to as solalus or warriors.

There are buna motifs woven into the bands called kolo or bird and nik no’o which is the leaf of Cassia fistula tree. Kolo is believed to be a dove and according to old stories when a weaver would be spinning thread and a pair of doves sitting in a nearby tree would sing, they would give the weaver ispiration for her work.

This textile is lovely on as a wall hanging or used as throw on the bed or over a couch.
