Beit AnaShoulder Cloth
Beit Ana is a narrow single panel textile used as a shoulder cloth by women for ceremonies and special occasions. The textiles of Miomafo area in West Timor are known for their indigo work with intricate ikat.
The ikat motif on this textile called makai mnutu small hooked pattern that represents interconnectedness between family, clan and the natural world. The ikat on this textile is particularly intricate and tied by a master weaver. The indigo is a good deep colour.
