Beit Ana is a narrow shoulder cloth worn by women for ceremonies or special occasions. The textiles of Miomafo area of Timor, where this textile is from, are renown for their deep indigo work and intricate motifs.

For the people of Timor certain animals, plants, rocks and water springs are sacred and become a clans totem. The motif on this cloth is called Ika or fish and a person of a clan who weaves this motif may not eat certain fish as they are perceived as the totem of the clan.
