Dayak textiles have long been revered for their unique designs. This kebat textile has several motifs. The motif encerebung bamboo sprouts represents regeneration. There is also tiang bekurung pillar with a roof that refers to the pillars of traditional houses. Each pillar is believed to have a particular function in protecting its inhabitants. Another one is called akar kiarak that means banyan root.

A kebat is usually made into a woman’s tube skirt called a tape when left plain or tating when embellished with shells, beads, buttons or bells.
